Title Just What Might Be Lurking in the Dust at Work, School or Home?
Introduction Advanced MicroAnalytical offers particle and Particulate Micro-Analysis (PMA) testing and consulting services to identify the composition of dusts and residues.

Salem, NH, January 17th, 2019

The buildup of dust or residues is an age-old problem that isn’t isolated to any one locale or type of environment. Any indoor environment, from private homes, large multi-tenant buildings and schools, right up to immense industrial complexes, will likely find some dust or debris building up at some point. Frequently, this dust is just a result of people living in an enclosed space, creating dust from themselves and from their surroundings and actions. However, there are times when this dust or residues might be of concern.

When this could be the case, Advanced MicroAnalytical provides a number of analytical services using comprehensive Particulate Micro-Analysis methods to bring insight and answers. This is done in a manner that accounts for clients with a range of experience levels so they can easily understand what the findings mean for their unique application.

Advanced MicroAnalytical uses a range of microscopy methods, from optical to spectral imaging, fluorescence and electron microscopy. This allows their scientists to examine all of the varying components of any dust or residue samples. In addition, chemical analysis methods, such as micro FTIR, Raman or X-Ray spectroscopy allows individual particles or aggregates to be identified. Finally, the relative compositional breakdown of materials in the sample can be identified in order to allow for comparison of materials. Advanced MicroAnalytical’s Particulate Micro Analysis (PMA) is comprehensive and provides clients with further insight about materials present at their locations. The laboratory offers clear, concise, and informative reporting as well as detailed data and helpful summaries of its findings.

All of this information provides Advanced MicroAnalytical’s clients with the details they require to assess if there is anything present at the site that warrants concern or further analysis. It also could answer if the dust residues reflect evidence of known material sources or unwanted air intrusions.
