NMR can be used to identify the chemical composition and structure of various organic and inorganic molecules both in liquid and solid state. NMR experiments are specific to the magnetic properties of various atomic nuclei and their relation to other nuclei in a molecular environment. Reconstruction and interpretation of this information can be used to determine not only the identification of a compound but also the 2 & 3 dimensional structure as well. Some of the common nuclei examined include 1H, 13C, 29SI, 31P, etc.
Common applications for NMR include:
- Chemical identification/verification
- Chemical synthesis analysis and support
- Quality control
- Research & Development
- Structural Characterization
